Goals and Intent

Have you experienced a time when you bought something, and then everyone seems to have it? You were just part of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, when your mind increases awareness for that item, causing you to notice it more.

This week, I dig into how we can apply this to help us find purpose.

It starts with goals and intent.

This will be the last week I post on this site. All posts will be on my other site, http://www.jswpark.com, starting next week. If you’d like to receive a short email to receive an update whenever I write, please subscribe below! I’d love for you to continue our journey on personal growth.

One last thing, before you leave! I was chatting with a good friend about my articles, he said I should be a life coach. This has come up numerous times over the years and I’ve always been hesitant.

I told him “the thing that stops me is I’m just as lost as anyone who’d want a life coach.” He replied “that’s why you’d be so good. You’d be so relatable.”

I never considered that before. While I’ve mentored colleagues in an office environment, I never thought that I could extend it to others outside the work place. So here’s my version of applying my own advice of taking a shot and not waiting. If anyone reading this would like to discuss feeling lost and finding their way through the wilderness of life, I would be happy to chat.

Here’s what I offer:

  • No judgement. We are all on our own journey, on our own timeline.
  • An ear. Many times, we just need to voice our frustrations, and a simple conversation can help.
  • Relatability. I’m figuring out life too, and sometimes all you need is a friend in the same boat to explore with.
  • My time. I only ask that you devote your time as well and chat with an open mind. I do not consider myself a life coach (yet). Think of me as a friend, a side kick, that just wants to lend you a hand.
